Environmentalist gunned down outside home in Guyana
14 10 2008 GEORGETOWN, Guyana: A 26-year-old woman was gunned down outside her Georgetown, Guyana,  home shortly after 10:00 pm on Sunday by two men who escaped in her car. She died some ten minutes after arriving at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).
Tropical depression forms in Caribbean
14 10 2008 NEW YORK, USA (Reuters): Tropical Depression 15 formed in the Caribbean and will likely strengthen into a tropical storm Monday but will not threaten the oil-rich Gulf of Mexico as it moves toward the Atlantic, the US National Hurricane Center said. The depression was located about 340 miles southwest of San Juan.
Bible to be translated into West Indian patois
14 10 2008 LONDON, England: Bible readers will be able to have access to the Great Book in a new language, as attempts are now being made to make the books of the Old and New Testaments of the Bible available in patois, a spoken language developed by West Indian slaves in the 17th century.
