11 10 2008 Panasonic unveiled the latest technology in 3D 1080p on a 100-inch plasma HDTV. According to Panasonic, the 3D innovation was demonstrated at CEATEC Japan 2008 using a Panasonic 100-inch plasma and a Blu-Ray player to deliver full 1080p HD video with separate views to each eye. The infinitesimal differences between the two video streams create the 3D effect in the brain.  The Panasonic difference is the ability to create a sustained full high-definition experience.  Viewers will need polarized glasses to get the full effect. The old multi-color 3D card board goggles are not necessary which is a good thing.

Researchers team up to probe iron-arsenic superconductors with new instrument
11 10 2008 Researchers at the U.S. Department of Energy's Ames Laboratory are part of collaborative team that's used a brand new instrument at the DOE's Spallation Neutron Source to probe iron-arsenic compounds, the "hottest" new find in the race to explain and develop superconducting materials. Rob McQueeney, an Ames Laboratory physicist, was part of that team whose findings, published in the Oct. 10 issue (101) of Physical Review Letters, mark the first research produced with the aid of the new tool.
Fat-regenerating 'stem cells' found in mice
11 10 2008 Researchers have identified stem cells with the capacity to build fat, according to a report in the October 17th issue of the journal Cell, a Cell Press publication. Although they have yet to show that the cells can renew themselves, transplants of the progenitor cells isolated from the fat tissue of normal mice can restore normal fat tissue in animals that are otherwise lacking it.
