Transforming Narrowband India to Broadband India with Internet Airborne

India WiMAX Forum, Intel and Assocham with the association of DoT (Dept. Of Telecom), Govt of India & BSNL, India's national incumbent carrier is organizing Global Exposition cum Conference on WiMAX on OCT 15 -16th, 2008 at Hotel Oberoi, New Delhi. The theme of the conference is "Transforming Narrowband India to Broadband India with Internet Airborne".

Mobile Broadband Opportunity in India:
According to WiMAX Forum projections India offers a potential of more than 27.5 million WiMAX users by 2012 and 70% of forecasted subscribers will utilize mobile and portable WiMAX devices to access broadband Internet services. The wireless broadband service revenue potential is estimated to be $5 billion over the next 5 years.

The 2 day exposition aims to bring together decision makers to assess technology in its state of readiness. At this Indoor Expo with WiMAX Live Coverage, attendees will be able to see, touch and experience new consumer and enterprise products and services that will enable right decisions on mobile WiMAX.

The international exposition will have over 50 participating companies from APAC, EU, US and India including Operators, TEMs, ODMs, Device makers, Integrators and Chip manufacturers.


High Speed Internet Applications Support on WiMAX:
In India, corporates, governments, SMEs and consumers are seriously looking at WiMAX as potential Wireless broadband technology. WiMAX is a globally proven mobile broadband technology that enables adoption of web based application by community at large like telemedicine, distance education, e-governance, online banking, online gaming and online entertainment.
