We’re working to plant 5,000,000 (million!) trees in the next year.
And at $0.10 a seedling, we need only $500,000 to do it
.

Help us get the word out
Post one or more of the videos on your site, and link to www.edenprojects.org.

The videos are actually a 3-part series that was produced by the award winning filmmakers at
Chronicle Project (you can catch their documentary Dear Francis on Showtime television).

Our strategic partner Chronicle Project occasionally sends emails out with media and web content similar to this. Click the link below to join the list.

5 Reasons to Plant Trees:

1) Make a global difference with your green lifestyle
One of the best ways to immediately take your green lifestyle global is to plant trees overseas. Rebuilding the forests in area where the environment has been destroyed helps break cycles of poverty and dependency.

2) Offset pollution for a carbon neutral life
It is fairly easy to live carbon neutral by planting trees that will offset your pollution (while still maintaining the other benefits of planting trees).

3) Reforestation is an answer to de-forestation
Environments can be replenished in areas that have been destroyed by deforestation. By diligently and strategically planting in desert areas that were lush woodlands only 30-years ago, we can actually bring back much of forests, wildlife, and even water sources that were originally lost.

4) Poverty relief by treating the root (cause)
Sending food and aid oversees is important, but it rarely (if ever) fixes the problem. Ugandan journalist Andrew Mwanda points out in the article Does Aid Help Africa published by The Gaurdian, “$600 billion given to Africa in aid over the past four decades has resulted in zero growth.” What if only 1 billion of this had been spent on reforestation and rebuilding the environment? That would plant 100 billion trees, renew the ability to live off the land, and put money in the hands of the workers instead of the corrupted government officials.

6) You can literally plant a forest
Every $25 donation plants 250 trees. That’s $0.10 a tree (10 cents). If only one person gave $25 a month, this would plant 3,000 trees a year. Five years later you will be able to literally see a forest as a fruit of your contribution (www.edenprojects.org).

About Eden Reforestation Projects
We are a group of people from a variety of faiths, cultures, political persuasions and nationalities who share a love for (1) the environment and (2) the well being of humankind. We acknowledge that environmental destruction is a major cause of extreme poverty in third world nations and a likely cause behind the climate change crisis. We are committed to putting our convictions into action, so we plant trees at one of the lowest costs in the world (only $0.10 a tree). For more information or to get involved visit www.edenprojects.org.
