This information leaflet ‘European research in action: food safety in Europe’ is one in a series of leaflets focussing on European research into issues of wide public interest. This leaflet covers food safety research in Europe (one of the main thematic research themes of the European Union) and discusses labelling and traceability of food, consumer confidence, dealing with existing and emerging contaminants, quarantine, endocrine disrupting chemicals, microbiology and zoonoses, and the food chain.
