Germany provides 50 million € for peace consolidation in DRC

The German government has just announced a decision to contribute 50 million euros to the newly established Fund for Peace Consolidation in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) for the period 2008-2011. The Fund is intended to finance projects that help generate income and employment for the local population and revive local economies and projects that have an immediate and direct impact on the daily lives of Congolese people in sectors such as agriculture, infrastructure, health, education and environmental protection.
