ACP banana growers meeting in Yaoundé

ACP banana growers have been meeting in Yaoundé since 25 August to establish a common position vis-à-vis the World Trade Organisation (WTO) after losing some of the privileges they previously enjoyed on the EU market. The reduction of customs tariffs for Latin American producers exporting to the EU means that the subsidy system for the banana sector will have to be reviewed.
