Hunger threatens millions of Afghans

The British charity Oxfam has warned that time is running out for millions of Afghans facing a severe food shortage this winter. Less than a fifth of the 275 million euros needed have been pledged so far. Many remote regions are cut off from the outside world in the winter and relief supplies must be sent before the first heavy snowstorms. The organisation has called on the international community to give generously.
