The press services of the Angolan Embassy in Portugal this Tuesday announced the death by illness of Maria Antonieta Azancot de Menezes Medeiros dos Anjos, wife of the ambassador to that European country, Assunção dos Anjos, which occurred last Sunday in London, England.

With a degree in mathematics from the Faculty of Sciences of the Lisbon University, Maria dos Anjos held, among others, the post of director of the Office of the Secretary of State of Cooperation of Angola.

The funeral of Maria dos Santos, 55 years old, from Lobito (central Benguela Province), will be held in the Angolan capital, on a date to be revealed.

Diplomats and other staff of Angola's diplomatic mission in Portugal expressed pain, sadness, sorrow and condolences to the mourning families and friends.
